How coconut oil is made?

For the elaboration of coconut oil, two processes are distinguished: Industrial and non-industrial that can generate a virgin oil. The difference between the two processes is that the industrial method uses chemicals to completely remove the shell of the coconut or to manipulate the consistency, smell and taste of the oil. The oil is then refined to be used as low-quality coconut fat. On the other hand, in the so-called "biological" process, a press is used to obtain a higher quality oil without the use of chemicals.
